GENERAL INFORMATION Singapore
ENTRY REGULATIONS:
All visitors are required to have a passport validity of at least six months, onward/return tickets, onward facilities (visa, entry permit, etc.) to their next destination and sufficient funds for their stay in Singapore. Tourist visas are not required for most nationalities for visits of up to 30 days.

CLIMATE:
Tropical, warm and humid with only slight variations between the average maximum of 31 degrees Celsius and minimum of 23 degrees Celsius. Rain falls throughout the year, with more consistent rain coming during the monsoon season from November to January.
CURRENCY:
Local currency is the Singapore Dollar (S$). The Singapore dollar is pegged to the Canadian dollar at a rate of 1.20 S$ to the CAD$, although the rate varies depending on the exchange rate.

220-240 volts, 50 cycles
LANGUAGE:
English, Malay, Mandarin and Tamil

HEALTH REQUIREMENT:
None required unless arriving from a country where a disease is partly/wholly endemic.

AIRPORT FACILITIES & TAX:
The international airport is the Changi International Airport. Departure tax is S$15.00, usually included in the price of the ticket.
SHOPPING:
Since Singapore is a duty-free port, prices of many goods such as electronic and electrical products and jewelry tend to be reasonable. Shops all over Singapore with the "Singapore Gold Circle" sign are recommended.

CUISINE:

Choices are extensive ranging widely from inexpensive local dishes found at food courts/hawker centers to sophisticated restaurants serving international cuisine.
