ENTRY
REGULATIONS: |
| All
visitors entering Thailand must possess valid passports. Temporary
visitors to Thailand from most countries for the purpose of pleasure
are exempted from applying for entry visas and can stay for a maximum
of 30 days in Thailand. |

CLIMATE: |
| Tropical
with an average annual temperature of 28 degrees Celsius. Temperatures
get as low as 11 degrees Celsius at night in the cool season and as
high as 41 degrees Celsius at daytime in the hot season. Humidity
is relatively high. Thailand has three distinct seasons: Summer from
March through May; Rainy with plenty of sunshine from June to September;
and Cool from October through February. |

currency is the Baht (BHT). The Baht is pegged to the Canadian dollar
at a rate of 29.50 Baht to the CAD$, although the rate varies depending
on the exchange rate. |

HEALTH
REQUIREMENT:

inoculations or vaccinations are required unless one is coming from

international airport is Don Muang International Airport in the capital
city of Bangkok. Departure tax is 20.50 BHT. |

SHOPPING: |
| Shoppers
in Bangkok have a wide choice of areas in which to pursue their search
for bargains, most of them located within walking distance major hotels.
One such area, for example, is along Silom and Suriwongse Roads. Thai
silks, cottons, precious stones and jewelry make memorable gifts and
souvenirs. |

CUISINE: |

Thai
cuisine is distinctive, thanks to liberal use of spicy ingredients.
It combines the best of Chinese and Indian culinary traditions while
retaining its own very special character. International food in
restaurants and foodshops are abundant.
