Your first glimpse of Japanese culture comes in Tokyo where you can explore the ancient and modern wonders the city has to offer before moving onto the historic treasure known as Kyoto


Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive Tokyo
Upon arrival at the airport, meet and transfer to the Keio Plaza Hotel - 4* for three nights.  Rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 2
Tokyo (B/L)
This morning, visit the Tokyo Tower Observatory. Next, enjoy a Japanese Garden & Tea Ceremony at Happo-en. This is followed by a visit to the Imperial Palace Plaza.  Take a Sumida River Cruise and then visit Asakusa Kannon Temple.
Day 3
Tokyo - Nikko - Tokyo (B/L)
Today, take a motor coach to Nikko and the ancient Toshogu Shrine. Then drive through Irohazaka Zigzag Way to the mountains. Next visit Lake Chuzenji & Kegon Waterfall prior to returning to the Shinjuku area of Tokyo.
Day 4
Tokyo - Mt. Fuji - Hakone (B/L)

This morning, leave Tokyo by coach for Mt. Fuji, the volcanic mountain that is Japan’s national icon. After lunch, proceed to Hakone. En-route, enjoy a delightful Lake Ashi Cruise and visit the Hakone Ropeway. Tonight, stay at the Hakone Hotel Kowaki-En - 4*.

Day 5
Hakone - Kyoto (B/L)

After breakfast, head to Odawara train station and take JR bullet train to ancient Kyoto where you will stay at the New Miyako Hotel - 4*. Join the "Nara Afternoon Tour" and visit Todaiji Temple. See peaceful Deer Park and visit Kasuga Taisha Shrine.

Day 6

Kyoto (B/L)
Today, visit Kyoto’s famous Nijo Castle. Next, tour Kinkakuju Temple and Kyoto Imperial Palace. In the afternoon tour Heian Jingu Shrine, Sanjusangendo Temple and Kiyomizu Temple.

Day 7

Kyoto - Hiroshima (B)
This morning, take a JR bullet train to Hiroshima where you will stay at the Hotel Granvia - 4*. Next, take a ferry to Miyajima Island to visit Itsukushima Shrine. Return to Hiroshima and visit Peace Memorial Park Museum and the Atomic Bomb Dome.

Day 8
Hiroshima - Kurashik - Okayama - Kyoto (B/L) Take a JR bullet train to Shin-Kurashiki. Visit the Kurashiki Folkcraft Museum, Ohara Museum of Art and stroll around the old town. After lunch, transfer to Okayama by local train to visit Koraku-en Garden. Return to Kyoto by train where you will stay at the New Miyako Hotel - 4*for two nights.
Day 9
Kyoto - Osaka - Kyoto (B/L)
This morning, depart for Osaka by local train.  Visit the Aerial Garden Observatory and theremarkable Osaka Castle.  Then enjoy a boat ride on the glorious Aqua Liner.
Day 10
Depart Kyoto (B)
Head to the airport.
