Day 1: Arrive Beijing Arrive in Beijing and check-in to The Westin Hotel 5-star. Tour Beijing at your leisure.
Day 2: Beijing (B/L/D) Begin your tour of historic Beijing with a visit to Tiananmen Square, followed by a tour of the Forbidden City and its gardens. After lunch, take a pedicab ride through the 700-year-old winding streets of Beijing and visit the Hutong. Enjoy the spectacular ‘Legend of Kung Fu’ show.
Day 3: Beijing - Great Wall (B/L/SD) This morning, visit one of the world's most remarkable sights - the Great Wall of China, built over 2,000 years ago by Emperor Qin. After lunch, visit the Ming Tombs, the beautifully decorated burial place of the Ming Dynasty emperors. Later, drive by the Olympic site and see the National Aquatic Center (the Water Cube) and the National Stadium (the Bird's Nest). Tonight, enjoy a delectable Peking Duck Dinner.
Day 4: Beijing - Yichang - Board Cruise ship (B/L/D) This morning visit the Temple of Heaven and the Hall of Prayer. After lunch, fly to Yichang, where you will board the MS Victoria Katarina 4.5-star. Enjoy a welcome dinner on board.
Day 5: Yangzte River Cruise (B/L/D) Early this morning, depart Yichang passing the eastern part of Xiling Gorge. Arrive at Yangjiawan Pier where you will visit the Three Gorges Dam Project. Later this afternoon, pass through the Three Gorges Dam shiplocks.
Day 6: Yangtze River Cruise (B/L/D) Today, your cruise takes you to the legendary Three Gorges.Pass the western part of Xiling Gorge. Continuethrough the Qutang Gorge, whose cliffs rise more than 1,000 meters above the river. Then you will pass the Wu Gorge and its 12 towering peaks before entering Xiling Gorge, the longest and most exciting of the three. In Badong, disembark for the Shennon Stream ferry and sampan tour where you will see the amazing hanging coffins and hear Tuja Songs.
Day 7: Yangtze River Cruise (B/L/D) Slowly cruise down the Yangtze River and marvel at its natural beauty. Sail past ancient villages and historic sites before reaching Shibaozhai, home to a famous Chinese pagoda.
Day 8: Arrive in Chongqing - Disembark Cruise ship - Xian (B/L/D) This morning, arrive in Chongqing. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Xian. Stay two nights at the Hyatt Regency Xian 5-star.
Day 9: Xian (B/SL/SD) Spend the day exploring Xian's ancient monuments including the site of the 2,000 year old Terra Cotta Warriors. Next, enjoy a sumptuous Dumpling Banquet lunch. Experience the flavors, shapes and colors that will tempt the palette. This is followed by a visit to the Great Mosque and walk through the Muslim Quarter. In the evening, enjoy a special dinner and dance show in the Tang Dynasty tradition. On the way back to the hotel, see the sparkling City Wall that's lit up at night.
Day 10: Xian - Hangzhou (B/L/D) This morning, visit the Yangling Museum. The museum is located underground in order to minimize impact on the landscape. Located beneath the mausoleum of the final resting place of Han Dynasty emperor Jingdi which dates back to the 2nd century BC. In the tomb a huge number of relics was found which reflects the prosperity of the time. Ten tomb chambers of the mausoleum are so far excavated, but there are more to come. The tomb is protected by the museum and some of the best relics from the tomb are on display at the museum. Exhibits include pottery wares, terra cotta sculptures and jewelry. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your flight to Hangzhou. Overnight at the Sofitel Hangzhou West Lake 5-star.
Day 11: Hangzhou - Suzhou (B/L/D) This morning, enjoy a boat ride on the breathtaking and scenic West Lake. Then visit Lin Yin Temple, noted as one of the ten most famous Buddhist temples in China. After lunch, visit the Museum of Chinese Herbal Medicine and the Temple of Yue Fei. In the afternoon, travel to Suzhou and stay at the Kempkinski Suzhou 5-star.
Day 12: Suzhou - Shanghai (B/L/D) Start the day with a visit to Lion Forest Garden and a silk factory. Other visits include the Suzhou Museum and a boat ride on the Grand Canal before heading to Shanghai. Tonight stay at the Sheraton Shanghai 5-star.
Day 13: Shanghai (B/L/D) Sightseeing of dynamic Shanghai begins with a visit to the Bund, often referred to as the "Wall Street" of China. Also visit the Garden of Mandarin Yu Yuan, built in 1577. After lunch, visit the Jade Buddha Temple and the Shanghai Museum. Tonight, marvel at an amazing Chinese acrobatic show.
Day 14: Shanghai - Home (B) Today, head to airport for your flight home.
